As a registered charity, every donation to Polka makes a difference.  Polka is for everyone, and the generosity of our amazing supporters ensures that every child can experience live theatre productions and creative learning activities. Each year, thanks to our donors, we give away 10% of theatre tickets and 50% of workshop places for free.

This May, we’re raising £40,000 so every child can be included and access theatre and creativity at Polka. There’s some incredible lots available including: • VIP theatre nights + hotel stays • Exclusive dining, golf, holidays, signed memorabilia, and more Anyone can take part! All bids and donations will support our Access Programme, helping remove barriers for children with access needs and ensuring they can experience adapted performances, workshops, and creative opportunities.     The Polka Playwriting Award is back! 🎭 Following The Polka Playwriting Award is back! 🎭 Following the success of our inaugural year with our production of Dweeb-A-Mania, we're so excited to again welcome submissions for new writing for young audiences aged 7-13. Submit your play and if successful, the winning playwright will see a full staging of their production as well as the play text published by Methuen Drama. Artistic Director of Polka, Helen Matravers said, "As the only award of its kind, it holds exceptional significance across the whole theatre sector – creating inspiring, empowering work for an age group so overlooked when it comes to theatre productions." The R&D is a chance to them to see what the creatives have been working on, and provide feedback.
