Workshops
Polka Theatre can offer your school a variety of fantastic workshops that will foster the creativity in your class. The experienced team of workshop leaders deliver a variety of show-related, puppetry and special needs workshops in all forms of theatre. Workshops can incorporate drama, music, movement and craft. Page to Stage workshops are also offered to support literacy in primary schools. Polka’s Education Team travels to schools all over London to facilitate these workshops to keep travel costs (and more increasingly risk assessment worries) down. Workshops generally last for one hour but can be tailor made to suit each school. 
Bring the magic of Polka to your school with a workshop based on a production. Explore the play’s themes and production elements such as music, dance or movement.
FUTURE ME PROJECT
Be sure to take a look at our Future Me exhibition when you come and see Mission to Mars. As the production is set in 2035, Polka’s Education Department have asked three classes from three local primary schools to send messages to themselves in the future. Their messages will then be displayed in an interactive exhibition in our foyer, along with footage from their Mission to Mars workshops.
The workshop will consist of a workshop leader visiting the class in role as a member of the Space Agency. They will put the students through their paces asking them to consider what it’s like to journey into space as a team of astronauts. They will think about what challenges they may face as well as exploring their own personal aspirations for the future. Let us bring your favourite books to life through drama. Ideal for book weeks and to compliment Literacy, these workshops are tailor made to suit your needs.
