Artistic Director Jonathan Lloyd leaves Polka
Jonathan Lloyd, Artistic Director of Polka Theatre, leaves the local Wimbledon organisation after 7 years in post to take up a new role as Artistic Director/ Chief Executive of Pegasus Theatre in Oxford.
Polka Theatre’s imaginative Road Safety Theatre in Education programme for school children aged 6 – 11 shows no sign of slowing down. Entitled Arrive Alive and Around the Corner, the interactive performances will tour schools in Merton and, for the first time, other London boroughs including Hounslow, from 25 February.
Teachers and pupils work with theatre professionals to create new work in London, York, Plymouth.
Polka Theatre has recruited six teachers from Bond Primary, Hillcross Primary and Merton Park Primary (Merton), Chesterton (Wandsworth), Vauxhall Primary (Lambeth) and Rotherhithe Primary (Southwark) who will be attending the retreat weekend from 16 – 17 February 2013 in Yorkshire.
